Orlando Florida’s Hispanic Business Initiative Fund (HBIF) and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCCMO) have announced that one of this year’s finalist for the Don Quijote awards category of “Hispanic Business of the Year – More than Five Years” is Hispanic (Brazilian) owned Albu & Associates, located in Winter Park, Florida. The fourteen-year-old company is owned and operated by brothers Jason and Andrew Albu.

The “Hispanic Business of the Year – More Than Five Years” Award recognizes Hispanic-owned businesses that have been in operation for more than five years. Companies nominated for this award must show financial strength or growth, which is no small feat in the construction industry. Since Jason and Andrew took over the company in 2011, when their father retired, the company has grown year after year. Today it is a very financially strong corporation with annual sales of more than $20MM with a dominant presence in Florida’s commercial construction industry. Albu & Associates accepts this recognition with humbleness and with great pride in exemplifying a Hispanic business contributing to Central Florida Economic Development.

Another measure for nomination is job creation, which Albu & Associates has continuously achieved over the past decade. With their business and client growth they have steadily added to their project management and superintendent team. They currently have more than 20 employees and the brothers have their eyes set on further team growth.

The Don Quijote Awards Gala will be held on December 12, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Epcot’s World Showplace Pavilion in Lake Buena Vista, FL. For tickets and information contact 407-428-5872.
